Traditionally Wear Horse Riders Jodhpurs

Riding breeches are tight-fitting pants, especially around the calves, so they fit inside tall riding boots. Horsemen traditionally wear jodhpurs. The tight pants had slits in the seam a few inches above the ankle. This caused the leg to come out of the pant leg.

Jodhpurs were originally loose and baggy around the hips and thighs, inspired by Indian trousers called churidars or churidar pajamas. Modern clothing with stretch has resulted in tighter-fitting jodhpurs, which are often reinforced at the knee and inner thigh. These pants are named after the Indian Rajasthani city of Jodhpur.

Lace Up Calves Cotton Jodhpurs Pants

Riding breeches of strong cloth, traditionally wide-hipped and fitted from knee to ankle. Briefs or shorts worn just below the knee were popular during the 18th century. During the Regency era, they were largely worn as evening or court wear, a practice that continued until the middle of the century. The first pair was made in Jodhpur in 1890 and was made from a thick cotton twill fabric. They were quickly adopted by other polo teams in India.

In the late 1800s, Sir Pratap Singh, the Maharaja of Idar and Regent of Jodhpur, was dissatisfied with the style of breeches worn while playing polo. So he started producing a garment adapted to the needs of the sport. He modeled his design on the 'Churidar', a traditional Indian long pant. Churidars are tight-fitting trousers that are wide at the top and narrow at the ankle. He retained the original style, fitted from calf to ankle, but he accentuated the baggy aspect by flaring the garment along the thighs and hips.
